Huge congratulations to Addy for her stellar performance at the Rockwall Chamber of Commerce Lemonade Day and Junior Market! Outshining a competitive field of young entrepreneurs, Addy secured 1st place for Best Booth, proving that a great business requires both a quality product and a captivating presentation.
Her creativity and attention to detail clearly paid off, setting a fantastic example of how a polished "storefront" can drive success in the marketplace.
The Lemonade Kid business event is a vibrant showcase of young entrepreneurship. It provides a hands-on platform where children learn the fundamentals of commerce—from product development and marketing to financial literacy.
Addy made and sold bee hotels, birdhouses, and blueberry-honey lemonade. What an un-bee-lievable day! Congratulations, Addy!

Poetry Publishers
We’re Poets and We Know It!
Over 20 talented students from APHE have been selected for publication in the 2026 Young American Poetry Digest. Chosen by a national panel of educators, these young authors have made their mark in the creative writing world!
Publication in the Digest provides these poets with a national audience, celebrating their unique voices and inspiring a lifelong passion for literacy within our writing community.

Garden Spices
International Night at APHE was a tasty garden success! Students made spice packets inspired from Italy (pizza blend), Mexico (taco blend), and India (chai Our herb garden bed had lots of examples of the plants used to make all the spices.
Families could also make wildflower seed balls to inspire others to start gardens that attract pollinators from around the globe. Students took home sunflower plants to grow in their own gardens and learned that the sunflower is the national flower in Ukraine and the largest sunflower recorded was 35 feet tall!
Thank you Mrs. Mitchell for helping our garden and minds flourish!
Creativity Shines
The halls of Amy Parks-Heath Elementary transformed into a vibrant gallery this week for the annual APHE Art Show. The exhibit featured a stunning array of masterpieces from talented students in grades K-5, showcasing everything from imaginative sculptures to colorful paintings.
The spotlight also shone on the select artists whose pieces were chosen to represent our school at the RISD District-Level Art Show. We are incredibly proud of these students as they head to the district competition this coming weekend, April 17th and 18th. Congratulations to all our young creators!
APHE Ties for 4th at BOB
At this year’s elementary Battle of the Books, the competition reached new heights. APHE delivered a stellar performance, finishing in a tie for fourth place. In a field where every detail mattered, they missed only two questions out of 30!
Success required mastery of seven books, with students knowing every title "cover to cover." After months of intense preparation and hard work, our readers proved they can hold their own against the district’s best. Congratulations Kensington, Lucy, Heidi, Taylor, and Maddi!
